ARK Kitchen Standards

ARK Kitchen Standards explain what ARK checks before cabinetry leaves the workshop, before installation begins, while work is on site and before Handover — as well as how reported workmanship concerns are assessed afterwards.

They make project readiness, quality checks and expected outcomes easier to understand across the kitchen project.

1. What do ARK Kitchen Standards cover?

ARK Kitchen Standards cover the parts of kitchen and cabinetry project delivery that require clear responsibilities, defined site rules and repeatable checks. The published standards below explain how ARK manages work inside the client’s home and how completed kitchen workmanship and installation concerns are assessed.

On-Site Standards

How does ARK manage kitchen installation work inside a client’s home ?

ARK Site Discipline defines the rules that apply when cabinetry and kitchen renovation work is carried out inside an occupied property, including site protection, work areas, tools and materials, privacy, access, dust, waste and the condition in which the site is left when workers leave.

Workmanship & Defect Assessment Standard

How does ARK assess kitchen workmanship and installation defects after completion?

The ARK Workmanship & Defect Assessment Standard explains how completed kitchen cabinetry, benchtops and installed components are assessed when a workmanship or installation defect is reported. ARK considers function, alignment, applicable project requirements, manufacturer information, material characteristics and the actual completed condition before determining the appropriate response.

2. Kitchen Project Quality Checks

ARK uses defined checks at key points before cabinetry leaves the workshop and before the completed kitchen moves into Handover. These checks help identify completeness, visible condition, installation quality and project-readiness issues before the next stage proceeds. Applicable check status, review progress and follow-up items may be reflected in My Progress during delivery, while released inspection, Handover and other formal project records remain in myARK Documents.

Pre-dispatch Checklist

What does ARK check before kitchen cabinetry leaves the workshop ?

Before delivery, ARK checks the main cabinetry items, hardware requirements and project-specific readiness against the accepted scope. The purpose is to identify missing, incomplete or visible-condition issues before the cabinetry reaches site wherever reasonably possible.

Pre-handover Inspection Checklist

What does ARK check before kitchen Handover?

Before Handover, ARK inspects the completed kitchen against the confirmed project scope. The final review covers key visible and functional areas such as cabinetry, benchtops, hardware operation, sealing, sink installation and final completion records.

3. Kitchen Installation Site Readiness

Before kitchen cabinetry is delivered or installed, ARK confirms the site conditions that may affect access, installation, trade coordination and the agreed project sequence. Site readiness helps reduce avoidable delays, rework and damage once installation begins.

Site Readiness Requirements

What must be ready before kitchen installation starts ?

ARK checks the site against the confirmed project scope and installation plan. Depending on the project, this can include:

  • Work area cleared and demolition completed or coordinated

  • Walls, floors and ceilings ready for the next stage

  • Plumbing and electrical positions confirmed

  • Delivery and installation access confirmed

  • Appliances and client-supplied items available where required

  • Site protection requirements prepared

  • Other required trades completed or coordinated

  • Benchtop and installation timing confirmed where relevant

If a required site condition is not ready, the installation sequence may need to be adjusted before cabinetry installation proceeds.

4. How ARK Kitchen Standards Work Together

During project delivery, My Progress provides selected recorded status, review and follow-up information so the client can see where the project has reached.  Once applicable records are released, final inspection, Handover, warranty, care and other formal project documents remain connected to the Project Record in myARK Documents.

Before Dispatch

ARK completes the applicable pre-delivery checks to confirm the main cabinetry items, hardware requirements and project readiness before the kitchen leaves the workshop.

Before Installation

ARK checks relevant site-readiness conditions, including access, protection requirements, other trade readiness, appliances and client-supplied items that may affect delivery or installation.

During Installation

ARK Site Discipline applies to how work areas, property protection, site organisation, access, dust, waste and on-site conduct are managed while work is carried out in the client’s home.

Before Handover

ARK completes a final inspection of the installed kitchen against the confirmed project scope, including applicable visible, functional and completion items before the project moves into Handover records.

After Handover

Relevant Handover, warranty and aftercare records remain connected to the Project Record, while workmanship concerns can be assessed under the applicable ARK standard and project documents.

ARK Kitchen Standards support consistent site preparation, installation control, final inspection and workmanship assessment across confirmed ARK Kitchen projects.

Project-specific contracts, accepted Formal Quotes, approved drawings, accepted variations, applicable manufacturer requirements and New Zealand law take priority where they are more specific or legally binding.
