This Warranty Policy applies to all kitchens, cabinetry, and benchtops supplied or installed by Ark Project Limited.
It operates together with New Zealand Consumer Law and the ARKCode traceability system.

This Warranty Policy applies to all kitchens, cabinetry, and benchtops supplied or installed by Ark Project Limited.
It operates together with New Zealand Consumer Law and the ARKCode traceability system.
1. Scope of Warranty
Ark Project provides warranty coverage for defects in:
1.1 Cabinet Structure

Carcass panels

Shelves
-
Toe kicks
-
Joinery integrity
1.2 Manufacturing & Workmanship

CNC cutting accuracy
-
Drilling and assembly
-
Edge banding
-
Factory quality control
1.3 Installation Workmanship

Leveling
-
Fixings
-
Door and drawer alignment
-
On-site installation integrity
1.4 Hardware
Hardware components follow the official warranty provided by the manufacturer.
(e.g., Blum, Hettich, Titus, etc.)
1.5 Benchtops
Benchtops such as quartz, laminate, and composite surfaces follow the warranty provided by their respective suppliers.
2. Warranty Duration
2.1 Ark Project Warranty

Cabinet structure: 10 years

Manufacturing / workmanship: 5 years

Installation workmanship: 2 years
2.2 Hardware Warranty
Hardware warranty depends on the brand’s official policy.
Where lifetime warranty applies, Ark Project will assist in the replacement process.
2.3 Benchtop Warranty
Quartz, laminate, acrylic, and composite surfaces follow the supplier’s warranty
(typically 7–15 years depending on product type).
3. What Is Not Covered (Exclusions)
3.1 Normal Wear and Tear

Scratches, scuff marks, dents

Gloss reduction
-
Minor surface abrasion from daily use

Natural door/drawer settling over time
3.2 Moisture, Heat, and Chemical Damage
-
Water damage (swelling, delamination)
-
Steam damage from kettles or appliances without ventilation
-
Bleach, acids, or harsh cleaning chemicals
-
Heat damage from direct cookware contact
3.3 Third-Party Damage
-
Electricians, plumbers, painters, cleaners
-
Renovation work done after installation
-
Modifications or repairs not performed by Ark Project
3.4 Natural Events

Fire, flooding, earthquake, or other force majeure
3.5 Unauthorized Installation
Products installed or reinstalled at a different location are not covered.
3.6 Products purchased from unauthorized sellers
Non-Ark Project supplied items or second-hand cabinets are not covered.
4. Defect Evaluation Standard
Ark Project evaluates defects using the following industry-accepted standards.
Any item within these standards is not considered a defect.
4.1 Viewing Distance Standard

1000mm viewing distance (side/tall units)

45° viewing angle

Normal lighting conditions
4.2 MBIE Building Code Tolerances

Door/panel dimensional tolerance: ±3mm per meter

Door/drawer gap variance: ±2mm

Panel flatness tolerance: ±2mm

Benchtop flatness: ±3mm per meter
4.3 Natural Material Variation

Wood grain differences
-
Quartz pattern variation
-
Surface gloss differences
4.4 Pattern Matching (Vein/Grain Continuity)
Waterfall edges, corners, and joints cannot achieve perfect pattern alignment.
This is not considered a defect.
4.5 Benchtop Joint Colour Variation
Joint filler cannot perfectly match stone colour.
Slightly darker or lighter joints are acceptable.
4.6 Caulking & Finishing Beads
Toe-kick caulk, wall gap caulk, and ceiling scribe sealing are normal industry practice.
Minor shrinkage or colour variation is acceptable.
4.7 Normal Wear
Minor scratches, abrasion, hinge movement, or metal oxidation are not defects.

Door & Drawer Alignment – Free Adjustment

Free for the first 180 days (6 months)

After 180 days, treated as regular maintenance & service fee applies.
These standards form part of this Warranty Policy and are verified using ARKCode project data.
5. ARKCode – Warranty Traceability System
Every Ark Project kitchen is assigned a unique ARKCode, which stores:

Material brand, colour, specification
-
Technical documents (TDS, VOC, MDF standard compliance)
-
CNC production logs
-
Installation photos and notes
-
Leveling and alignment data
-
Service, repair, and maintenance history
-
Warranty transfer records
Warranty claims are evaluated using ARKCode data, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
6. Transferable Warranty
Ark Project offers a transferable warranty tied to the kitchen itself.
When the property is sold:

The new owner may register their email under the existing ARKCode
-
Remaining warranty continues until its original expiry
-
All historical logs remain visible in the ARKCode portal
This enhances property value and provides long-term traceability.
7. How to Make a Warranty Claim
Step 1 – Enter your ARKCode
Visit the Warranty Portal and enter your project’s ARKCode.
Step 2 – Submit an Issue Report
Describe the issue and upload photos.
Step 3 – Evaluation (1–3 business days)
Our team reviews ARKCode data, installation logs, and defect standards.
Step 4 – On-site Assessment
If required, Ark Project will arrange a site visit.
Step 5 – Repair or Replacement
All actions are logged into ARKCode for future traceability.
8. Customer Responsibilities
To maintain warranty validity, customers must:

Follow the Care & Maintenance Guide

Provide necessary ventilation
-
Avoid harsh chemicals
-
Prevent prolonged water exposure
-
Not modify cabinets without approval
-
Provide reasonable access for inspection or repair
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by the Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA):
Ark Project is not liable for:

Consequential or indirect loss
-
Delays caused by suppliers, trades, or site conditions
-
Damage occurring after installation due to external trades
-
Work not performed by Ark Project
This warranty operates in addition to your rights under the CGA.
10. Governing Law
This Warranty Policy is governed by New Zealand law, including:
