Clear standards for on-site preparation, installation procedures, access requirements, and responsibilities.

 

Summary

This policy outlines how Ark Project NZ performs installations, what customers need to prepare, and how responsibilities are shared to ensure a smooth, safe, and predictable installation experience.

 

1. Installation Scope

1.1 What Our Installation Includes

Ark Project installation covers:

  • delivery of cabinetry
     

  • on-site assembly (if required)
     

  • installation of cabinets, panels, and toe kicks
     

  • alignment & leveling
     

  • hinge / drawer / hardware adjustment
     

  • benchtop installation(if included in the project)
     

  • final check before handover
     

1.2 What Our Installation Does Not Include

Unless explicitly stated in your quotation, Ark Project does not provide:

  • plumbing works(sink connection, dishwasher plumbing, waste pipes)
     

  • electrical installation(oven, hob, rangehood, lighting wires)
     

  • gas fitting
     

  • gib repair, plastering, painting
     

  • demolition, rubbish removal
     

  • tile or splashback installation
     

  • flooring work
     

If needed, these can be arranged through external licensed contractors.

 

2. Site Access & Preparation

2.1 Site Readiness Requirement

Before installation begins, the site must meet the following:

  • space cleared and empty
     

  • old cabinetry/appliances removed(unless included in the quote)
     

  • walls, floors, and ceilings structurally ready
     

  • plumbing/electrical outlets positioned as per final plans
     

  • flooring installed(unless we agreed otherwise)
     

  • access ways clear for moving panels and cabinets
     

2.2 Clear Access

The customer must provide:

  • safe access for installers
     

  • parking availability
     

  • unobstructed entry for carrying large panels
     

If access is restricted(stairs, narrow doors, long carry distance),additional labour charges may apply.

 

3. Installation Conditions

3.1 Working Environment

Installers require:

  • a safe, dry, indoor environment
     

  • adequate lighting
     

  • power outlets
     

  • reasonable working hours(usually 8:00–19:00)
     

3.2 Pets & Children

For safety reasons, pets and children must be kept away from the installation area at all times.

3.3 Unexpected Site Conditions

If installers arrive and discover conditions that:

  • pose safety risks
     

  • significantly differ from plans
     

  • prevent installation
     

Ark Project may postpone installation, and additional charges may apply.

 

4. Benchtops

4.1 Stone / Quartz / Acrylic Tops

If your project includes benchtops:

  • stone/quartz templates are done after base cabinets are fixed
     

  • fabrication takes 7–14 working days
     

  • installation requires a separate visit
     

4.2 Wooden / Laminate Tops

Usually installed on the same day unless special fabrication is required.

4.3 Plumbing After Benchtop

Licensed plumbers must reconnect sinks and appliances 24 hours after benchtop installation.

 

5. Appliances

5.1 Customer Responsibility

The customer must confirm:

  • appliance dimensions
     

  • appliance model
     

  • correct ventilation clearances
     

Ark Project installs cabinetry around appliances but does not wire or connect them.

 

6. Variation / Additional Charges

Additional charges may apply when:

  • site is not ready
     

  • plan changes occur after production
     

  • structural issues discovered on site
     

  • extra labour required(lifting, cutting, rework)
     

  • customer requests modifications beyond the quotation
     

All variations must be confirmed in writing.

 

7. Rubbish & Cleanup

Standard installation includes:

  • removal of major packaging
     

  • basic cleanup of work area
     

It does not include:

  • disposal of old cabinets(unless quoted)
     

  • disposal of demolition materials
     

  • construction waste management
     

 

8. Final Checks & Handover

Upon completion, installers will:

  • adjust all doors and drawers
     

  • confirm leveling
     

  • check alignment
     

  • ensure smooth opening mechanisms
     

  • take photos for ARKCode record
     

You will be asked to sign a Completion Acknowledgement or we update it directly inside your ARKCode portal.

 

9. Damage & Liability

9.1 Our Responsibility

We cover any damage caused directly by our installers during installation.

9.2 Customer Responsibility

We are not responsible for:

  • existing defects in walls, floors, or structure
     

  • movement or cracking caused by building shift
     

  • damage caused by other contractors
     

  • damage after installation due to improper use
     

 

10. Delays & Scheduling

Installation may be delayed due to:

  • supplier delays
     

  • weather (if delivery is affected)
     

  • unsafe site conditions
     

  • unpaid invoices
     

  • customer-requested changes
     

We will notify you via email, message, or ARKCode updates.
