Delivery Policy
Clear standards for delivery coordination, access requirements, handling procedures, and responsibilities for all cabinetry and benchtop deliveries.
Summary
This policy outlines how Ark Project NZ manages the delivery of cabinetry, panels, benchtops, and related materials, and explains the responsibilities required from both parties to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
1. Delivery Scope
1.1 What We Deliver
Depending on your project, delivery may include:
Pre-assembled cabinets
panels, fillers, toe kicks
hardware & accessories
benchtops (laminate, acrylic, stone, quartz)
packaging & protective materials
1.2 Delivery vs. Installation
Delivery only includes transporting items to the site.
Installation is a separate service under the Installation Policy.
2. Scheduling & Coordination
2.1 Delivery Window
Delivery is scheduled:
after production is complete
after final payment milestones are met
during working hours(8:00–17:00)
We will confirm:
delivery date
expected arrival window
items included
through SMS, email, or your ARKCode portal.
2.2 Customer Availability
The customer (or nominated representative) must be on-site to:
grant access
confirm receipt
sign delivery acknowledgement
If no one is available, delivery will be rescheduled, and additional charges may apply.
3. Site Requirements
3.1 Clear Access
The site must have:
clear pathways for carrying cabinets
unobstructed doors and hallways
safe flooring & indoor space to place materials
If the access involves:
long walking distances
multiple flights of stairs
narrow corridors
extra labour charges may apply.
3.2 Weather Protection
For safety and material protection:
cabinets & panels cannot be delivered in heavy rain unless site provides sheltered unloading
stone benchtops cannot be moved across wet, muddy, or uneven surfaces
We may delay delivery if conditions are unsafe.
4. Handling of Materials
4.1 Cabinetry & Panels
Delivered materials are checked against the packing list.
Cabinets and panels must be stored indoors, in a dry, clean, flat area.
4.2 Stone / Quartz Tops
Stone benches require:
two or more installers
safe lifting space
clear access
no uneven or sandy surfaces
The customer must ensure flooring is protected prior to delivery.
4.3 Large or Fragile Items
Such as:
tall pantry cabinets
island panels
splashback panels
stone waterfall sides
These require additional safety handling. If special equipment is needed (dollies, lift carts), fees may apply.
5. Inventory & Damages
5.1 Counting & Recording
Upon delivery, our team will:
check all items
photograph materials
upload records to the ARKCode project page
5.2 Damage During Delivery
If any damage occurs during delivery, Ark Project is responsible and will repair or replace the item.
5.3 Damage After Delivery
We are not responsible for:
damage caused by other contractors
damage from improper storage
water exposure, impact, or scratches after delivery
Once items are delivered and signed for, responsibility transfers to the customer.
6. Failed Delivery & Additional Fees
Additional fees may apply if:
no one is onsite at the agreed time
access is restricted
site is unsafe
customer requests a last-minute date change
excessive carrying distance is required
Re-delivery will be scheduled at the next available slot.
7. Benchtop Delivery (Special Conditions)
7.1 Quartz / Stone
Due to weight & fragility:
must be handled by trained personnel
cannot be delivered through unsafe access routes
cannot be left outdoors
must be installed within 24–48 hours of delivery
7.2 Laminate / Timber Tops
Require indoor storage to avoid moisture damage.
8. Rubbish & Packaging
Standard delivery includes bringing materials to the site only.
It does not include:
opening packaging
removing rubbish
disposing of pallets or crates
Packaging removal is done during installation, not delivery.
9. Delays & Force Majeure
Delivery may be delayed due to:
supplier delays
traffic or road closures
extreme weather
unavailable access
health & safety risks
unpaid balances
We will notify you as soon as possible through your Email or phone updates.
